What is the K2 Base Camp Trek?

The Route

Day 1-2: Skardu to Askole — A full day's jeep drive through remote valleys, with an overnight stop before the trek begins.

Day 3: Askole to Jhola — The first day on foot. A gradual walk along the Braldu River.

Day 4-6: Trek to Paiju — Walking along increasingly dramatic glacier moraines, with growing views of the Trango Towers.

Day 7-8: Paiju to Urdukas — The trail climbs onto the Baltoro Glacier itself. This is where it gets truly magnificent.

Day 9-10: Urdukas to Concordia — The most dramatic section. Concordia is the legendary meeting point of the Baltoro and Godwin-Austen glaciers, with K2 dominating the view straight ahead.

Day 11: Concordia to K2 Base Camp and back — The emotional highlight. Stand at the foot of the Savage Mountain.

Day 12-14: Return trek — Retracing your steps back to Askole and Skardu.

Physical Preparation
