Often called 'Little Tibet' due to its strong cultural and architectural ties, Khaplu Valley is the easternmost region of Baltistan. It is a place of dramatic beauty, with the mighty Shyok River carving its way through. The valley is dominated by the magnificent Khaplu Palace, perched regally above the town. Khaplu offers a more remote and rugged feel than Shigar, with stunning views of the 7,821m Masherbrum peak (K1). It's a journey into a land of kings, ancient mosques, and breathtaking landscapes.
